March 17th 2017: Strengthening the prevention of non-communicable diseases in low and middle income countries

Non-comunicable diseases (NCDs) - mainly cardiovascular, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory diseases - are responsible for most of the diseases burden at global level. More than80% of the premature deaths for these conditions occurs in the low and middle incomecountries causinga huge demand of health care services and trapping millions of peaple in poverty. 
The semnar aims at examing existing prevention strategies, presenting the Palestinian experience - where effective prevention policies have been implemented - and discussing how to takle the "double burden" of communicable and non-communicable diseases in low and middle income countries.
