The Italian Presence: The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation- Jerusalem Representative Office

On January 4th 2016 the law establishing the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) entered into force (Law 125 of August 11th 2014). Its first Director is Ms Laura Frigenti, appointed by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi confirming the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
 The Agency provides services and technical assistance to other public administration offices and is entrusted with the task of implementing programmes and projects of the European Union, banks, international funds and organisations, in collaboration with other bilateral and multilateral organisations working towards the same aims.
The Agency - through our Jerusalem Office - operates on the basis of directives issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) that sets out the policy orientation ad assures unity and coordination. AICS performs technical and operation activities associated with the analysis, development, financing, management and control of cooperation initiatives.
